i) Western regional grid comprises of 4 States namely Chattisgarh,Gujarat,Madhya Pradesh,Maharashtra, Union Territory of Goa,Daman Diu,Dadar and Nagar Haveili, Generating Stations at Central and State Sector, Independent Power producing stations, State DISCOMS and STUs etc.

ii) The Western region has an installed capacity of 39944.21 MW as on 31-Jan-2008

iii) The States are inter connected with each other through 400 kV/220 kV network. Western Region is connected to Southern region through HVDC Back-to-back link at Bhadrawathi and to Eastern regions through Raipur-Rourkela and Korba-buddhipadar and to the north with Gwalior Agra and vindhyachal Singrauli HVDC
